Since the age of six, Ed Court has attended Stagecoach Colchester. From a very young age it was his ambition to write a musical and now, at the age of just 16, he has done just that. Wanted – The Legend of Robin Hood is the new musical written and composed by Ed. Plans for the musical began in 2007, when Ed was 14 but unfortunately in the same year he became very ill and was diagnosed with CFS/ME in February 2008. Being in year 10, he was unable to attend school full time for two years, managing just a few lessons a week. At an extreme low point in Ed’s health and overall morale, his Mum was certain that his plans for the musical were good enough to go ahead and encouraged Ed to focus on this to help him cope with his illness. Since then the show has developed into a performance that is now ready to take to the stage. From being unable to read a few sentences or walk for just a few minutes, Ed is well on his way to recovery and proud to present his first musical.

Ed is thankful to everyone who has helped out with the production of the musical and to the talented cast chosen from Stagecoach, Colchester. He hopes the performance will appeal to all ages, demonstrating what young people can achieve by working together, building on their ambitions whilst bringing others enjoyment and raising money for charity.

Ed has received a great deal of support from the CFS/ME rehabilitation programme at Great Ormond Street Hospital and thanks to them is now studying AS Level Art, Music and Medieval History. He has decided to donate all profits from the show to the hospital’s Theatres for Theatres appeal.
